Six minutes that show you're in control
This is Attention Training (ATT) from metacognitive therapy — LetBe's core exercise, complete and free. You hear six everyday sounds and a voice that moves your attention between them, deliberately.
It's not about relaxing. You train the muscle that decides where your listening goes — the same muscle that pulls you out of rumination.
You decided where your attention goes
That is exactly the skill that pulls the ground out from under rumination. In the app you train it regularly — and park worries instead of carrying them with you.
What happens here
The exercise moves through three stages: first you hold your attention on a single sound (selective), then you jump between sounds on cue (switching), and at the end you take in all of them at once (divided). Thoughts are allowed to come — you let them be there and simply return to the sound.
What is LetBe? The method in detailLetBe is a self-help tool based on principles of metacognitive therapy (after A. Wells). It does not diagnose and is no substitute for therapy or treatment. If something weighs on you heavily, talk to a doctor or a counseling service.
